Membership Qualifications

MEMBER – A Member (“Member”) is any individual who has been selected or
appointed directly by the parties or by the National Mediation Board to hear and decide labor-management disputes in the railroad industry as a Referee for the National Railroad Adjustment Board; as a Neutral Member of a Public Law Board or Special Board of Adjustment; as a directly selected Arbitrator; as Chair of a protective provision Disputes Committee; or the like; or

ASSOCIATE MEMBER – An Associate Member (“Associate Member”) is any
individual who has been appointed to the National Mediation Board’s Roster of
Arbitrators (“NMB Roster of Arbitrators”) or meets the requirements for
Placement and Retention on the NMB Roster of Arbitrators, but who has not met the criteria for becoming a Member as described in the above paragraph by being selected or appointed to hear and decide labor-management disputes in the railroad industry. An individual who currently serves as a representative for a party in railroad labor-management relations is not eligible for membership in the Association.

NOTE: Those applying for NARR membership, despite not meeting the above eligibility criteria, will be reimbursed any membership dues paid less any administrative and processing costs incurred by NARR.

Membership Renewal Information

Your membership to NARR will renew annually.  All members receive an email before their renewal if they would like to cancel their NARR membership.
